V&A x Fabreco
The V&A’s Conservation Jewellery Collection is made from the waste fabric accumulated in their world-leading conservation work using Re_considered’s game-changing technology, Fabreco®.
Re_considered, crowned one of the best repair, restoration and alteration services in the UK, launched their collaboration with the Victoria & Albert Museum, London earlier this year. The collection includes Fabreco® necklaces, earrings, and brooches, all made from the V&A’s word-leading textile conservation waste fabric.
Sarah Sevier, head of retail, V&A comments, “We are delighted to be working with Re_considered on this range of unique jewellery. Each piece has been created using fabric scraps from the V&A’s world-leading textile conservation department, the perfect way to wear the V&A.”
The Conservation Jewellery Collection can be found at the V&A’s physical museum shop and will be available online soon.
Re_considered, an up-and-coming name in the sustainable fashion sector, is already an established upcycling service and are dedicated to educating and inspiring people to turn to circular and sustainable fashion practices before buying new.
Re_considered has developed a technology and material called Fabreco® whereby scrap textiles can be solidified into products with a beautiful marbled and textured effect. This collaboration with the V&A , marks Re_considered’s first big B2B collection and is the start of many more exciting brand partnerships in the works.
Founder, Tabby Bunyan adds: “We are so proud to have collaborated with an organisation such as the V&A and hope this inspires more people and brands to think creatively about the waste that they create.”
